Jackie's Native American Service

What a beautiful service we were able to put together for my sister Jackie, who passed away in March of this year.We were able to get local drummers

and  A traditional Micmac service was done by Steven Michael of Shubenacadie First Nation Reserve.  A smudging and Seven Sacred prayers were inspirational. The granite memorial bench was placed on Thursday, prior to the service. It was lovingly donated by her friend, Ralph Brewer. Just as she had wanted!

Scooter

I have acquired a Honda Silver Wing 600cc Scooter. George has actually done some old Yankee trading to get it for me. I never considered riding a motorcycle (because of the 600 cc, this is actually classified as a motorcycle) before, but this is beautiful. I will need to take a driver-safety course to obtain my license. I am hoping to join a group of four women friends to take the course together, if we can get the time table worked out. It is a weekend course. Then you obtain your license.

My New Job for HOME CARE OF MAINE is working into Full-time

I have only been working for 6 1/2 hours per week for the past three weeks, paying my obligations  but no extra cash. I will start a 34 1/2 hour week next week.....terrific. I left my job in February to care for my sister and it has taken more time than I had expected to get a new position. I will begin the course for PSS soon to become certified. Then my hourly wage will increase also!
I looked for work since March 4th, I applied everywhere...I have an impressive resume, good work history, excellent references, formal computer training, certified Professional Organizer..etc. But I am 62 and have no college degree.....eek. I have never seen such poor economy in Maine. Several houses here in Rangeley are on the market. Vacant stores on Main street. Stubby's mkt., a small convenience store that also sold Pizza and sub's has closed. This store has been open as long as I can remember...and I was born here. How bad will this get? I fear that Maine will be the last State to recover, I know we were one of the first to feel the crunch!!
